Members of OGAE Greece from all over the country flocked to Thessaloniki this past Saturday for MU.GA 2008, the sixth edition of the club's festival for Northern Greece. The festival was held at Les Lazaristes Hotel and was hosted by composer Gorgi Kalpakides.
The heavy rains across the country last weekend did not stop the OGAE Greece members from arriving in great numbers at Thessaloniki for Mu.Ga 2008, the Northern Greece equivalent of Ble, the club's official annual festival held in Athens. The evening was a great success, thehighlightbeing the traditional video competition with the participation of many countries – not necessarily EBU members here – and Eurovision style voting. The songs could be from any decade as long as they had never participated in a Eurovision Song Contest or local preselection. The grand winner of the evening was the UK, withShow must go onby the legendary Queen, followed by Greece, Canada, Italy and Barbados. Greece also won the Audience Award for Afti I nychta menei and a surprise honorary award was awaiting Chris Zavos, one of the oldest members of OGAE Greece, for his contribution to the club.
