With a clear majority of the televotes, 69.5% to be exact, the Spanish televiewers decided to rescue Ainhoa (picture) this week, one of the favourites among Spanish Eurovision fans. Vega had to leave the academy with 30.5% of the votes.

For one more week, Tony Santos was granted immunity after being declared the viewer's favourite, while Beth and Manuel Carrasco were the other two nominees.

Half of the remaining artists were nominated for leaving this week. Miguel Nández was saved by his teachers, and Joan Tena by his fellow students after a tie with Hugo, which made Tony Santos' vote decide the outcome, as that is an extra privilege by being the favourite of the week. This comming week, the Spanish televoters will have to decide whether to rescue Nika or Hugo.

During the weekly aftershow party broadcast on TVE entitled El Chat (The Chat), the majority of the academy singers agreed that Miguel Nández would be the perfect choice to front the Spanish entry in Riga. Hopefully by singing a ballad, they stated. They pointed out his strong voice and professional stage appearance as his best qualities.

The pattern of the next live show, to take place on 13 January, will be as follows: The professional jury will point out three artists to qualify directly for the next step of the final stage. The teachers will select one more, the same counts for the artists who have already qualified. The last of the six singers who will reach the crucial show to be broadcast on 27 January, will be selected through televoting. During that programme, the six remaining artists will be halved to three, who will be the actual contestants of the Spanish national final of 2003.
