Last year, Georgia chose an original promotional gimmick to attract attention to their entrant with the production of 200 bottles of the finest local wine to mark their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest and this year will be no different. A special perfume will be produced named after this year's participant, Diana Gurtskaya.

In association with Latvian firm Dzintars JSC, the largest manufacturer of biocosmetics and perfumery in the Baltics, and one of the oldest in the world, a special Diana Gurtskaya perfume will be produced to coincide with the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.

Twenty different fragrances were created by the Dzintars development laboratory for Diana to choose the one she believes suits her personality best. The final fragrance, created in colaboration with the artist herself, is said to "reflect the essence of her personality, energergetic and self-reliant". This is achieved through the use of chypre, hyacinth, iris, pink pepper, warm patchouli and ambergris.

The perfume was created to be used as a souvenir and the producers believe that: "This will complete and help get to the audience the true essence of Diana's inner world expressed in her «Peace Will Come» song."

Georgia participates in slot 14 in the Eurovision Song Contest second semi-final on May 22nd.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
