Portugal's 2008 Eurovision Song Contest participant, Vania Fernandes, is set to launch a promotional tour to the Balkans. The trip is being considered and a decision is expected next week. Here promotional website will also be launched next week.
The promotion of the Portuguese entry will possibly include a run through some Balkan countries, but that is still being researched. Next weekher newwebsite containing the song and performances of Vania on television, the biographies of the performers and news of the promotion process wil be launched. It will also feature comments and good luck messages from various Portuguese and foreign personalities linked to the Eurovision Songcontest and other areas of society.
For now the team behind the song is gathering sponsors to promote the song as widely as possible. The single releaseof the song is in an early stage of production and will have a wider distribution than in previous years as Portugal makes every effort to return to the Eurovision Song Contest final in 2008.
Vania will make a guest appearance tomorrow on a special show by RTP called "Festa da Primavera" (Spring Show). She is due to sing between 13.00 and 14.00 CET.
On March 9th last, Vania Fernandes and the song “Senhora do Mar” won the national final by a landslide to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. The song is composed by the experienced Andrej Babič and the lyrics are by Carlos Coelho who also had previous national final experiences.
Vania will perform 19th position on the second semi final on the22nd ofMay.
