The 2002 Eurovision Song Contest was the second most watched event of the year in Israel.

The first place belongs to the final of the World Cup between Germany and Brazil, with 35.7% of potential vieweres. The runner up is the live broadcast from Tallinn of the Eurovision Song Contest, gaining 34.6% of viewers. This high figure could be expalined by the participation of Israel's Sarit Hadad (picture), who is currently the most popular singer in Israel, although Eurovision has always been one of the most popular TV shows in Israel.

The fifth place in that same category, belongs to the special documentry about the life and tragic death of the 1983 Israeli entrant, Ofra Haza, which gained 30.4% share.
