Charlotte Perrelli confirmed to esctoday.com last night after winning Melodifestivalen 2008 that she will embark on an international promotional tour with the song Hero, that will represent Sweden at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade. She made the announcement during a video interview after securing the Swedish ticket. You can see the interview below.
The 1999 Eurovision Song Contest winner was a special guest at the German national final this year, and is set to embark on one of the biggest Swedish promotional tours of recent years. Sweden has traditionally not promoted their entry abroad on the same scale as other countries.
Promotional tours for countries such as Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania and Slovenia are also underway. Over the coming days, esctoday.com will keep readers fully informed as to where they can see Eurovision Song Contest entrants perform.
During the interview, Charlotte speaks about Sanna Nielsen, returning to the Eurovision Song Contest and refers to the esctoday.com national BigPoll where readers correctly predicted her victory.
