The Swedish national final was held tonight and it was decided that Charlotte Perrelli will represent the country in Belgrade at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with Hero. She was the favourite of the jury but came second with the televoters.
Charlotte Perrelli has already taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest: she represented Sweden in 1999 with Take me to your heaven and even won the competition. Her 2008 entry Hero was written by Fredrik Kempe andBobby Ljunggren. Bobby Ljunggren has already composed four songs in the Eurovision Song Contest: Se pa mig in 1995, which finished 3rd for Sweden, Kärleken är for Sweden in 1998 that finished 10th, Little by little for Lithuania in 2005, which finished last in the semi final and in 2006 heco-wrote Invincible which finished 5th, again for Sweden.

The Ark finished 18th for Sweden in Helsinki with The worrying kind. In 2008, Sweden will take part in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 22nd May.
