Germany: The Common Linnets to perform at German NF

The Common Linnets, who represented The Netherlands at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark, will perform during Unser Lied für Stockholm, the German preselection for Eurovision 2016.

The Common Linnets, an initiative of popular Dutch artist Ilse DeLange, earned an honourable second place at the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the country-ballad Calm After The Storm, gathering a total of 238 points. After the ESC, The Common Linnets achieved much success throughout Europe, and especially in Germany.

It is no surprise that the Dutch band will now perform during the German preselection for the ESC 2016, Eurovision Song Contest 2016 – Unser Lied für Stockholm, on Thursday 25 February.

The Common Linnets will perform together with the group The BossHoss from Berlin. Together, The BossHoss featuring The Common Linnets will deliver their version of the famous country-song Jolene, originally sung by country-star Dolly Parton. The BossHoss featuring The Common Linnets will take the stage after the ten candidates of the show have performed their songs.

The show Eurovision Song Contest 2016 – Unser Lied für Stockholm will air on Das Erste, Thursday 25 February, from 20.15 CET, broadcasted live from Cologne (Köln). Hosted by Barbara Schöneberger, ten potential songs for the ESC 2016 will be presented by the following acts: Avantasia, Alex Diehl, Ella Endlich, Gregorian, Jamie-Lee Kriewitz, Joco, Keøma, Laura Pinski, Luxuslärm and Woods of Birnam.

The show is sold-out, except for the dress rehearsal, Thursday the 25 February from 15.00 to 18.15 CET. Tickets for the dress rehearsal may be purchased at the usual advance ticket sales-poits (15 Euro’s), or online at Eventim (16 Euro’s), for more information please check here.
