The Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has aired the participating songs of this year’s Icelandic national selection Söngvakeppnin 2016 on Rás 2 and now they are available for listening on RÚV website.
The final of Söngvakeppnin 2016 will take place on 20 February with 7 songs participating. Two semifinals will be held on 6 and 13 February with 6 songs each – the top three from each semifinal, chosen by televoting will qualify to the final. A special jury will then award a spot in the final to one of the six non-qualifiers.
The participating songs are:

- Erna Mist & Magnús Thorlacius – Ótöluðorð (Unspoken words)
- Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir & Hjörtur Traustason – Hugurminner (My mind is)
- Þórdís Birna Borgarsdóttir & Guðmundur Snorri Sigurðarson – Spring yfirheiminn (All over the world)
- Alda Dís Arnardóttir – Augnablik (One moment)
- Karlotta Sigurðardóttir – Óstöðvandi (Unstoppable)
- Ingólfur Þórarinsson – Fátækurnámsmaður (A broke student)
- Elísabet Ormslev – Á ný (Again)
- Greta Salome Stefánsdóttir – Raddirnar (The voices)
- Sigríður Eir Zophoniasardóttir & Jóhanna Vala Höskuldsdóttir – Égséþig (I see you)
- Pálmi Gunnarsson – Égleiðiþigheim (I lead you home)
