Jovana Jankovic(25), an anchor woman of RTS morning program, was announced a few days ago as host of this year`s Eurovision Song Contest, along with famous Serbian musician Zeljko Joskimovic,. In an interview for Beta-News Agency, she revealed how excited she is about her new job.
Jovana stated that, by being chosen to be the Eurovision host, she got the best possible job that one TV presenter can get during their career in Serbia. “The feeling is great.“ – Jovana says. “I am still surprised, happy and excited. No doubt, it is a big responsibility. Considering that there are a lot of good people involved in the project, I believe we'll make this whole thing just perfect.“
Jovana also said that she believes that she was chosen, because she has hosted Semi-Final Draw. “They chose me to host the Draw, because my English is good and I can speak French as well, but there was no indication that I could host Eurovision 2008. Lots of people, Serbs and foreigners too, were happy with my hosting, and then the rumours started. I think it was the crucial point“
She also gave her opinion of Zeljko Joksimovic as her co-hosting partner: “I think it is a great solution, because he is a man well known by the Eurovision audience. I heard he is a true professional. He knows and feels the stage and has no stage-fright. There will be a lot of rehearsals for both of us and that is the way it should be.“
