German broadcaster NDR has confirmed  that the 2016 German Eurovision national final will be held in Cologne on 25 February.

The 2016 German Eurovision national final Unser Lied für Stockholm will take place in Cologne on Thursday 25 February. The responsibility of selecting the 2016 German Eurovision entry will lie in the hands of the German public. The show will be aired at 20:15 on ARD.

NDR will be publishing more details regarding their upcoming national final in due course along with the list of competing acts, the venue, ticket sales and host.

Germany is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest having debuted in 1956 in Lugano. The country has won the event twice in 1982 with Nicole and in 2010 with Lena.
