Earlier this week it was reported that Dima Bilan will not be able to use the well-known stage name anymore as a result of a court battle. Dima's management assures us that the Russian pop idol will retain his name and will participate in the Russian final with it. His song is called Believing and it was produced by Timbaland.

Dima Bilan will participate in the Russian final with his stage name as his management states clearly: "Dima Bilan is Dima Bilan and he can't lose his name anyhow!" Yesterday, during the World Fashion Awards both he and his producer Yana Rudkovskaya were voted the most stylish Russian singer and producer respectively. Yana said on stage : "Today was a very important day for me. I took part in the draw for the National Final. You know, I said before, that we would perform on 10th or 13th position And I did it! I've got number 10 for Dima! It is a good sign!". Yana considers that to be a good omen as those exact same positions were the ones Dima performed at in the semi final and final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, in 2006, where he got second place after Lordi.

Dima thanked his fans for their support and stated: "I had a very difficult year. Some people tried to involve me into scandals and disturb me. But anyway I was strong! And my song Believing, I am going to represent at the Russian final for Eurovision, is right about that! Its sounds very melodic, lyrical and emotional. I am sure all of you will like it!" The song is produced by Timbaland who also wrote Dima's hit Number one fan. The refrain of the song has been penned by Dima himself and the artist states that it is a biographical song.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
