Just hours after her song Autumn Leaf was disqualified by the Swedish broadcaster last night, SVT initiated negotiations with the famous artist concerning a possible task as being one of the hosts in the upcoming preselections of Melodifestivalen 2003.
For the five Swedish semi finals and the final next year, SVT has decided not to renew the format from last year when an anchor-man and an anchor-woman together lead all the six shows. Instead, the broadcaster is planning to give parts of the hosting role to various famous personalities, even including some of those artists who are going to perform in one of the semi finals.
The celebrity of greatest present interest is said to be Carola Häggkvist: “All questions will have to go through my spokeswoman Marie. Then maybe I can give you further comments,” Carola told the news paper Aftonbladet. The producer of the event, Madeleine Stenberg, could confirm that negotiations with Carola are under way.
