This weekend will probably be the highlight in the 2008 national final season with a total of twelve shows being held. Saturday will be this year's “Super Saturday”, when no less than eight national finals and one semi final will take place.
Finland
The third and last semi final will be held in Finland. Thefinal four songs will be presented and televoting will send two songs directly to the national final. The other two songs will enter the second chance round next week.

Croatia
Both shows of Dora 2008 will be held this weekend. On Friday, 14 songs will be presented and televoting will choose six songs to join the ten pre-qualified songs in the national final on Saturday. In the final, the winner will be decided by a jury and televoting like in recent years. The expectations should be high as in 2007, for the first time since its debut in 1993, Croatia did not take part in the final of Eurovision Song Contest but was eliminated in the semi-final.

Ukraine
The Ukrainian national final will be held on Saturday. Ani Lorak will present all five entries and the winning song will be chosen by televoting and a jury. In addition to her performances, four artists who have already won their place at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will present their entries in the show.

Ireland
Ireland finished last in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2007 and the winner of this Saturday's national final will try to do much better in Belgrade. Six acts will present one song each and the winner will be chosen by televoting only.

Iceland
After eleven quarter finals, a second chance round and four semi finals, Iceland will finally choose its representative. From the 33 entries that have been in the selection, the final eight will be presented in the national final this Saturday. The winner will be chosen by televoting.

Romania
After two very long semi finals the last two weeks, Romania will choose its representative in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. The country finished outside the top ten in Helsinki and hopes to achieve a better result again. The last week, there have been two changes in the line-up, nevertheless the number of entries remains twelve.

Poland
Poland has not been in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004 but has always been very close. The singer or group who will try to finally make the step to the final in Belgrade in the national final this Saturday. This year, twelve entries will be presented and the winner will be chosen by televoting and an expert jury.

Bulgaria
One of the most complicated national selections for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will come to and end on Saturday: after nine heats and a semi finals, twelve songs will be presented in the national final. The winner and therefore the fourth Bulgarian entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen by televoting.

F.Y.R. Macedonia
The Macedonian national final takes place on Saturday. The formula is the same as in recent years with 15 singers competing. The winner will be chosen by televoting and an expert jury. Since the introduction of the semi final in 2004, every representative for the country has made it to final where it finished out of the top ten.

Sweden
The third Melodifestivalen semi final will be held on Saturday with another eight sonds being presented. As always, televoting will send two songs directly to the national final and the third and fourth placed entries to the second chance round.

Belgium
The four quarter finals are over and the first semi final of Eurosong 2008 will be held on Sunday. Like in the semi finals, the top two songs of the televoting go forward to the next round while the third and fourth placed songs are in the running to get the jury wildcard for the national final.
