A short announcement has just been given on RTS, Serbia's national broadcaster, during the news when it was stated that Beovizija , the country's selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest will be temporarily postponed due to the political situation in the country. The new date for the semi final and the final, originally scheduled to be held on the 19th and 20th February, will be announced shortly.
After Sunday's declaration of independencein Kosovo, the world is watching developments very closely.Becauseof the ongoing political discussions at the UN and tension in the region, the broadcaster hasdelayed the showstemporarily.
The artists are now gathering for a meeting where Sandra Susa, RTS executive producer for entertainment, will explain the broadcaster's decision. It is expected that the artists will be fully briefed on the developing situation and will discuss possible new dates before any further announcements are made.
