A private television channel in the Czech Republic is claiming that Tereza Kerndlová's victory in the national final was influenced by Icom, a company who allegedly told all employees that they had to vote continuously by SMS. The claim is that a staggering 15,000 extra SMS votes were cast by the company's scheme, changing the result of the competition. esctoday.com contacted the national broadcaster who strongly refute the allegation.
CZTV have stated that "There was no problem whatsoever with the televoting during our national final. There is no intention of disqualifying Tereza who is extremely upset by the whole incident. The story was initiated by a private tv channel, based on an anonymous email and another anonymous statement.
Tereza is currently working hard on her show for Belgrade. Her latest album was indeed sponsored by Icombut this is a common thing and in no way means that the company encouraged the employees to vote for Tereza. The management of the company themselves have denied any attempt to influence their employee's votes."
Tereza won the SMS vote and claimed the Czech Republic's ticket to Belgrade where she will participate in the second semi final on May 22nd.
