As every 21 June since 1982, France celebrates music with la Fête de la Musique which has gained huge popularity since then, being celebrated in over 100 countries worldwide. This year again, the country’s main television channels TF1 and France 2 will each air a massive concert including several former Eurovision participants.

The most important private channel in France and Europe, TF1, will broadcast live from Nîmes tonight La Chanson de l’année fête la musique presented by Nikos Aliagas. The show will gather most of the current stars of the French musical scene as well as the cast of the musical Résiste which is based on the songs of France Gall and the late Michel Berger. The 1965 Eurovision winner for Luxembourg in Naples will be present, quite an event since the popular singer appears very rarely on TV.

State channel France 2 will air live from Nice tonight La Fête de la Musique, du Soleil et des Tubes presented by Patrick Sébastien and Virginie Guilhaume (who was the spokeperson for France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna). This year again the 2014 Austrian Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst will appear on stage as well as the 2015 French representative Lisa Angell. The 2012 French hopeful in Baku Anggun, as well as the 1988 entrants in Ireland Lara Fabian (Luxembourg) and Gérard Lenorman (France) have also been announced.

Hooked since Céline won the whole thing back in 1988 and can't really do anything about it!
