The first semi final of Romania's national selection for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest was held tonight. Twelve songs were presented and the top six were chosen by a jury and televoting to move forward to the national final on 23rd February.

In 2007, Romania was represented by the group Todomondo that finished 13th in the final. In 2008, the Romanian representative will take part in the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest.
