The first semi final of Melodifestivalen 2008, the Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, was held tonight. Eight songs were presented and two were chosen to go directly to the national final on 15th March.

The Ark finished 18th for Sweden in Helsinki with The worrying kind. In 2008, Sweden will take part in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 22nd May.
