Tonight, Latvia will continue its selection for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with the first Eirodziesma semi final being held. The format is the same as in recent years including two semi finals and a grand final.
The show
The show starts at 20:45 CET and will be hosted by Ugis Jokstsand Kristine Virsnite. Ten songs will be presented in the heat and the top three are to be chosen by televoting to go dorectly to the national final on 1st March. Another two songs will be chosen by a jury to go forward to the final.

In 2007, Bonaparti.lv made it easily to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest finishing 5th in the semi final with Questa notte. However, in the final the song was the leastpopular one from the semi final qualifiers finishing 16th. Latvia will participate in the second semifinal of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held on 11th May.
