After weeks of numerous speculations, the Polish broadcaster TVP has finally revealed the three
wildcards for Piosenka dla Europy, the Polish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008.
Natasza Urbanska, Zywiolak and Izabela Kopec have been given the opportunity to win a ticket to Belgrade.
Wild card 1: Natasza Urbanska- Blow up (composed by Rickey Fernand)
Natasza Urbanska is a well-known face of the Polish public TVChannel 1 where she featured in such musical shows as The Hit Night or Golden Saturday, performing numerous hit songs from all over the world. She took the third place in last year's Piosenka dla Europy with her debut single I Like it loud. Natasza is also one of the main singers of the Musical Theatre Buffo in Warsaw.
Wild card 2: Zywiolak- Noc Kupaly ( Kupala's night) composed by Robert Wasilewski
Zywiolak is a Polish band presenting a unique blend of heavy-folk, biometal and folkmetal also known as hard-folk. Members of the band are passionate about medieval instruments and folk art. They combine different elements of Slavic folk music andmythology. Zywiolak was awarded the grand prix of the 9th Polish Folk Music Festival New Tradition of the Polish Radio in 2006.
Wild card 3: Izabela Kopec- You've got my love (lyrics: Izabela Kopec, music: Filip Kuncewicz)
Izabela Kopec is a graduate of the Musical Academy in Wroclaw where she studied singing. She uniquely combines opera and pop music with shades of techno, ambient, etno and soul. She cooperated with a producer Peter Haywood with whom she recorded a single My Love, which was published in two albums Hotel St Tropez and Cafe Krishna, released in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
