Marija Serifovic, winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2007 apparently made peace with Aleksandar Tijanic, general director of RTS and ended the conflicts that lasted the past couple of months. After their meeting earlier today, she made a statement about an agreement between the two of them and explained she is now looking forward to her involvement in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.

Rumours that Marija Serifovic would not be a guest at the Eurovision she helped bring in Belgrade had been flying around the press and fora for weeks now as Serifovic' disagreement with general director of RTS, Aleksandar Tijanic, raged. With the contest a little more than three months away, though, it seems that a solution has been found.

On exiting Mr Tijanic's office today Serifovic said: "RTS is the one that organized my trip to Finland. I know that a lot of money was invested in our victory, around 400 000 euros, as well as lots of effort, creativity, and human resources."

After RTS, Marija proceeded to thank the other members of the 2007 winning team: "I feel thankful to the composer Vladimir Graic, the lyricist Sasha Milosevic and the girls from Beauty Queens which helped me by singing with me. All of this has provided my victory in Helsinki, my victory for Belgrade, Serbia, RTS and all of us who took any participation in this."

Serifovic attributes the tense situation with Mr Tijanic to the fact that she was represented in negotiations by her manager Sasha Mirkovic, who has decided to step down: "Misunderstandings we had so far are products of misfortunate circumstances because someone else has been talking on my behalf. I didn't want those incidents, I didn't initiate them and now I stopped them by my own will. I speak for myself and I take consequences for what is said by me, not by someone else".

"I'm looking forward to Beovizija and Eurovision with joy and enthusiasm, hoping that ten thousand of foreigners will enjoy our beautiful town, our songs and that we will represent ourselves in best possible way"- Serifovic concluded.

Marija's manager, Sasha Mirkovic, who was eventually blamed for the fight between Serifovic and Tijanic said to Beta agency earlier today that he is withdrawing from his position as negotiator with RTS in order to make Serifovic‘s appearance at final night in Belgrade possible.

As for Serifovic's next project,a new album in Serbian and English can be expected soon. The new album in Serbian will be released on 10th of March in a limited, 5000 copies only edition for her biggest fans. The Deluxe pack will comprise one DVD and a CD with songs in Serbian and few songs in English. After that, on March 15th thes regular edition will be released. The English album is expected in May.

A very special thank you to Aleksandar Kesic for the submission of the article.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
