Alenka Gotar, the 2007 Slovenian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest, has released her third single. After Cvet z juga and enska iz soli (Woman of Salt), Alenka releases Odidi.

Odidi (Go away) is a pop opera ballad, a cover of Croatian hit Idi, by Petar Grašo, who is a close friend Alenka's. The popular Slovenian artist penned the lyrics herself keeping the song close to the original as Petar wished. Odidi was arranged by Aleksander Valenčič, who was also involved in the production of the 2007 Slovenian entry Cvet z juga.

Lyrics

Čas mineva, čas spreminja vse,
S tem iveti včasih mi teko je.
Eni so odšli, mnogi so prišli,
ime zdaj svoje včasih zamolčim.

Kot na dlan sem dala ti srce,
ves moj svet le tvoje je ime.

Svoj poraz priznam,
a zdaj več nimam kam,
zato le prosim te, pusti me.

Odidi,
vrata za vedno mi zdaj zapri,
Odidi,
pusti, da sama sem, ko boli,
ivi,
in z drugo deli vse,
a ne pozabi, da nekdaj sem ljubila te

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
