According to rumours which appeared online at a Eurovision fan club, the ten songs of the Greek national final will probably be selected on the 16th and 17th of December.

The Greek broadcaster ERT is said to be holding a meeting on the above dates in order to choose the ten songs that will qualify for this year's Greek national final.

That's what was disclosed recently on the Greek list of a Eurovision fan club in Yahoo. According to the same source, some familiar names of the Greek showbiz are thought to be among the entrants: the well known female singers Sabrina, Pamela and Marianta Pieridi are expected to be some of them.

There was also a suggestion that even Sakis Rouvas, an extremely successful male artist in Greece and Cyprus (many people call him 'The Greek Ricky Martin'), has entered the Greek pre-selection. But, somehow, this doesn't sound very realistic…

The Greek national final is expected to be held in the Athenian Rex, the venue it was held last year.

Greek fans are enthusiastic, but also somewhat worried about this early selection by ERT. They fear that this may lead to early polls which perplexed and heated things up last year, resulting in bad publicity for the contest in Greece.

It has to be stressed that the above information is unconfirmed and was passed on to esctoday.com by a Greek Eurovision fan.
