Kostas Martakis, one of the three Greek 2008 finalists, had an official meeting with members of OGAE Greece on 15 January. Kostas promised the fans that they will be the first to hear his entry when the time comes. Meetings with the other two finalists, Kalomoira and Chryspa, have also been scheduled for the near future.

Kostas Martakis is relatively new in the Greek music scene but his looks have gained him instant popularity. During his meeting with the OGAE fans he stated that he is thrilled with the whole procedure of the competition. He also stated that he has been following the contest for a long time and always had a wish to take part, representing his country.

During the evening, Kostas had the chance to hear for the first time Paolo Meneguzzi’s entry Era stupendo and he commented positively on Paolo’s voice. He also promised OGAE fans that they will be the first to listen to the song he will perform in the Greek final in February.

In the days to follow, OGAE Greece has scheduled two more meetings with the lady candidates, Kalomoira and Chryspa.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
