Arvydas Martinėnas (Vudis) and Algirdas Grudinskis (Grūdas) have withdrawn from this year's Lithuanian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest, despite being tipped as hot favourites to qualify to the final due to their extreme popularity with Lithuanian teenagers.

Lithuanian teen idols Vudis and Grūdas, both products of the popular Lithuanian talent show Kelias į vaigdes 1 and 2 , stated that they take the Eurovision Song Contest very seriously and apart from that they did not want to let their fans and their broadcaster down by presenting an unfinished act. That would be because the show they have been working on since this summer will not be 100% ready by the time of the second semi final they were scheduled to participate in with Let's sing.

You can listen to a snippet of their withdrawn entry here.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
