On eurovision.de it was announced that the band Mor ve Ötesi will represent Turkey with the song Dünya yalan söylüyor in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Belgrade. Both the band and the song have been chosen internally by broadcaster TRT.
A special juryof TRT officials and Turkish music professionals have received the three proposed songs by Mor ve Ötesi this month. The song, Dünya yalan söylüyor (The world lies) will represent Turkey in one of the semi finals scheduled for 20th and 22nd May in Belgrade.
esctoday.com is aware that the title Dünya yalan söylüyor is the title of the band's 2004 album. After investigating with partner website www.eurovision-austria.com, we believe that the page on the official German site had published an error, and in fact, the song title given on the page was mistakenly taken from their 2004 album. The songs being presented to TRT officials have not been officially confirmed or published, and fans will have to wait a little longer before learning the title and the sounds of Turkey's 2008 Eurovision Song Contest entry.
