Céline Dion will be back on the Las Vegas stage a month earlier than expected.
The Canadian star, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland in 1988, is to return to Caesar’s Palace with a new show this coming 27 August, following a year-long hiatus during which she cared for her husband René while he recovered from throat-cancer surgery.
But the Journal de Montréal has revealed her return to Vegas will now happen a whole month earlier, on 13 June. She will be performing alongside Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli at the MGM Grand’s annual Power of Love Gala. The gala, which is held to raise money for research into Alzheimer’s Disease, will also see performances from stars like Ricky Martin, Queen Latifah and Jordin Sparks. Tickets for the event start at $1, 500.
It is now 16 years since Céline Dion first recorded with Andrea Bocelli. The song The prayer was the second single to be released from Céline’s Christmas album, These are special times, and the first from Andrea’s album Sogno.
