The Austrian lads have recorded a special video where they speak about their forthcoming Eurovision participation.

The Makemakes also recorded a special message few weeks back for our readers at ESCToday!

The Makemakes won the 2015 Austrian Eurovision national final with their entry I am yours and were awarded the golden ticket to Vienna. Hence they will defend the colours of the host country on home soil.

Austria debuted at the Eurovision in 1957 and has won the competition twice in 1965 with Udo Jurgens’ Merci Cherie and in 2014 with Conchita Wurst’s Rise like a Phoenix. Apart from its 2 victories the country has only made it 5 times on the top 5 since its debut in 1957 ( 4th in 1964 with Udo Jurgens, 5th in 1958, 1972, 1976 and in 1989 with Thomas Forster)

Conchita won the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen in 2014 with her entry Rise like a Phoenix, thus bringing the contest on Austrian soil for the second time in Eurovision history. Vienna will get the chance to host the event for the second time too.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 of May at the Wiener Statdhalle in Vienna, Austria.
