In further news regarding Sistem's possible participation in Poland's national selection, it appears the band's management has been a victim of a misunderstanding. TVP deny any invitation has been sent to the band to submit a song for a wildcard entry to the competition. esctoday.com has been investigating this story along with OGAE Poland.

The invitation stated: "Highly appreciating your previous contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest, TVP is honoured to invite you to submit an entry to the Polish preselections to be held February 23". The PR company responsible for Sistem contacted esctoday.com and a number of local media to announce the move, however it transpires that the invitation was a hoax.

TVP have informed OGAE Poland and esctoday.com that there is no employee by that name given in the email on the list of staff at the television company. Furthermore, they state clearly that they have not invited any wildcards to the Polish national final. TVP also confirmed to OGAE Poland that the only person with the authority to invite wildcards would be Mrs.Raczynska of TVP1. esctoday.com has been told that "many fans send letters and invitations and have also wishes but there are no wildcards yet and no decision. No invitation sent".

Zoli Toth, lead singer of Sistem has stated that the band will not participate in any national final this year. They are however not ruling out a return to the competition again in the future.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
