In connection with this year’s slogan “Building Bridges”, the Austrian national broadcaster ORF is asking fans from around the world to record a “video bridge” to the Grand Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest!
All you need is a phone camera and an original idea in order to record and create a video bridge to this year’s competition. The most creative virtual bridges will be selected to be broadcast at the Grand Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest on the 23 May to around 200 million international viewers!

So here’s what you need to do!
How to create your “video bridge”
- Brainstorm and come up with a video bridge idea with a friend or acquaintance from abroad. Alternatively, you can connect with someone who has already uploaded half of their video bridge idea video the songcontest.orf.at website.
- Film your part of your video bridge. Try to be creative with you choice of location, example being a tourist attraction.
- Ask your video partner to continue virtual bridge. Make sure your video is as accurate as possible when filming your bridge in order to make the virtual bridge as realistic as possible.
- Upload your uncompressed videos to the video.ORF.at platform and enter all of the necessary details.
The deadline for uploading your virtual bridges to the online platform is the 30 April.
Technical requirements
Below is a list of the technical details in order for your videos to be the best quality possible.
- Film your entry in the best possible quality of your mobile phone or your camera (ideally, Full HD 1920 x 1080, 16:9)
- Film your “video bridge” as much as possible without camera movements such as jerking.
- Leave about ten seconds of buffer time at the beginning and at the end of all videos.
- Do not use additional background music.
- Send the video directly from your phone to video.ORF.at or transfer the finished files from your phone or via cable from the camera to the computer. Please do not use tools: WhatsApp compresses videos automatically, thus reducing the video quality.
