TVP1, will be announcing the artists who will take part in the Polish preselection for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, on Monday 7. Aneta Wrona, spokesperson for the Polish broadcaster denied all allegations about a conflict between TVP1 and 2 that might lead to a replacement of Artur Orzech in the booth of the commentator in Belgrade.

OGAE Poland states that TVP1 has received about 100 entries for the 2008 Piosenka dla Europy. Some of the following artists have already announced they have submitted songs for the Polish final: Plastic, Żywiołak, Queens, Video, East Clubbers, Grzegorz Kloc, Jarek Wist, Kasia Nova and Patrycja Lipińska. Patrycja's song, Destiny, is composed and penned by Greek journalist and composer George Kalpakidis.

Rumours have also been flying around Polish websites that Kate Ryan, who is very popular in Poland,as well as Natasza Urbańska will be awarded two of the three alleged wildcards for the final but there is no official confirmation yet.

As far as the hosts of the Polish final are concerned, Ms Wrona stated that Natasza Urbańska will definitely not be hosting it and that the name of the co-cost has already been decided and will be announced in due time. In the same statement to RadioNewsLetter.pl, Ms Wrona assured Polish viewers that there is no conflict between TVP1 and TVP2 (Artur Orzech's new employer) so he will remain the country's commentator.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
