Natalia Podolksaya, who represented Russia at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, has won the Eurodance Song Festival with the trance version of her song Pozdno.

More than a hundred disc jockeys, journalists, producers and fans voted Natalia's hit the best dance song of 2005. Pozdno had already achieved formidable chart success across Eastern Europe, reaching number one in several countries.

Italy came second in the contest with the song L'impazienza by Danijay, beaten by just two points. Albania came in third with Mengjesi Pa Ty by Julka. There were 39 entries in all, which were showcased by participating radio stations across Europe. Many of the entries had already enjoyed commercial success, while others were finding their first audience through the competition.

The Eurodance Song Festival has been running since 2001, with the aim of promoting dance productions sung in local languages, or with strong links to national culture.
