The Netherlands: Anouk to Malmö?

Dutch singer Anouk might wave the Dutch flag next year in Malmö. Several meetings took place in the past few weeks and a confirmation is nearby, according to Dutch DJ and Eurovision commentator Daniël Dekker, as reported in Dutch media. Dekker: ‘We put a lot of energy into it and now we’re waiting for a positive outcome!’

A couple of months ago, the popular Dutch singer already announced she wrote a ‘killer song’ for Eurovision, but broadcaster TROS put a hold on Anouk’s wish to represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest. TROS had already requested airtime for several preliminaries in January 2013. Anouk would be more than welcome to take part in one of the preliminaries, but no exceptions would be made for her. The Dutch singer refused to compete against other contestants, in which she was supported by several former Dutch Eurovision representatives and Eurovision fans.

However, Anouk’s road to Malmö seems to be free of obstacles now as TROS cancelled their plans of the preliminaries. In the meantime several meetings have been held and a definite confirmation seems to be nearby. TROS hopes to reveal their final plans and set up for the Nationaal Songfestival 2013 on a short term.
