Marie N, the winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2002, has signed a one-year contract on co-operation to become a face of Ventspils.

Marie N, the Director of the �Baltic Records Group�, Arvids Murnieks, and the Chairman of the Ventspils City Council, Aivars Lembergs, have signed a contract on co-operation, according to which Marie N will participate in twelve original concerts and other events in Ventspils especially and Latvia in general.

Marie N tells: �To me, Ventspils is connected with special feelings and great memories. My first fan club was established in Ventspils, the lyrics for my songs in French is a result of the co-operation with the Assistant Professor of the Ventspils University College, Astra Skrābane. My successful appearance in the national finals of the Eurovision Song Contest also took place in Ventspils.�

The Chairman of Ventspils City Council, Aivars Lembergs, told: “We have continuously followed the development of the career of those people, whose success was furthered by the Ventspils city as well. Therefore we are glad to continue the co-operation with Marija Naumova by supporting the projects necessary for her creative development.�
