The Icelandic broadcaster RÚV received 190 entries for their national final Söngvakeppnin 2003. Out of these enries, fifteen songs will be selected.

The songs will be made public somewhere in the last week of January. Before the final night, three songs will be broadcasted on television every day, which means that the fifteen songs will be spread over five days. The national final is said to take place at February 15.
