The titles of the 50 songs that made it to the second phase of Malta Song for Europe 2003, were announced on Saturday 23rd November morning by Maltasong chairman Charlo Bonnici at the Radisson SAS Baypoint Hotel in Paceville, St. Julian's.

238 songs reached the Maltasong Organizing committee for the national selection. On 21st and 22nd November, a team of 15 people from the Maltese music scene selected the 50 best songs.

On December 16th a number of 24 songs will be selected from the 50 following a behind-closed-doors selection.

The 24 songs will proceed to the semi-final night, to take place on February 7. The final 16, chosen via televoting and expert-jury votes, will reach the Malta Song for Europe 2003 final on the 8th February 2003. Both the 7th and 8th February nights will be broadcast live on national broadcaster, PBS and live on internet via the www.di-ve.com link. Venue for the contest will be known shortly.
