Gil Yacov, head of IBA's selection committee for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 representative, told to the Israeli portal Ynet that the name of the representative will be announced next week instead of today.

The jury was not happy with the names of the potential representatives. In order to give other artists a chance to present themselves to the jury, the deadline was extended in a week.

David De'Or, Lior Narkis, Ilana Avital, Aviv Geffen, the group Tippex, Eyal Golan, Mokki, Amir Benayoun, Doron Mazar, Samir Shukri and Michal Yanai were named as possible representatives of Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. Although some jury members said to prefer Noa, it seems that she is not interested in participation.

Aviv Geffen's candidacy is extremley astonishing since he is a highly estimated and appreciated artist who is considered to be an artsit who will never go to Eurovision. His music tends to be melodic, but his performances are sometimes extreme. Geffen's albums sold are sold bery well in Israel.
