LTV gave esctoday.com permission to publish the logo of the Latvian national final Eirodziesma 2003. LTV says the logo for the national final is not the same as the logo for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003.

The logo is called Upes, which means Rivers. The main idea is that all rivers are ending in the sea, with the sun above it. The logo has been one of the entries of the logo contest organised by the Latvian broadcaster. The fact that the logo has been designed by an LTV employee is a coincedence.

The logo for the Eurovision Song Contest will be an adapted version of Upes, as we may believe an LTV spokesperson. According to LTV, it's not allowed to publish the logo without written permission!
