Israeli participant to be announced November 7

The Israeli broadcaster IBA announced that their participant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 will be announced at November 7. Yizhak Zonenschein lead the Israeli delegation last year and will do that in 2003 aswell. He told eurospain.tk about the IBA plans.

Aviv Gefen, known for his salty lyrics, approaced the IBA to apply for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest representing Israel, but the IBA replied that they want to send a dignified artist.

David D'Or, who participated in the Israeli national final KDAM 1993. Other candidates are the couples Jevgeni Shapovalov & Shlomit Aharon (Habibi, 1981) and Lior Narkus & Leila Malkus. The Israeli paper Ma'ariv also reported today that the IBA expects that the final entry for Riga will be chosen by the beginning of December, so that the selected entrant will have a month to submit the suggested songs.

Eurosong.be reported that rumours about the female singer Noa having interest in representing Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 are not true.
