Mad Video Music Awards nominations

The Greek Video Music Awards are about to take place again this year in Athens. It is the 4th edition organized by the popular Greek music channel Mad. Just like in the past years, the public can vote for their favorite artist, song or video clip becoming this way the most viewed awards in Greece. There are 17 categories with 5 nominations in each and for this year�s edition the slogan is �You got to fight for your right in Music!�

Like every year, the awards are full of Greek Eurovision stars:

Helena Paparizou, the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 winner, and her song “Gigolo” is nominated in the following categories:

– Best video clip pop
– Best video clip of the year
– Best video clip by a female artist
– Best artist of the year with the most played video clip
– Best dressed artist in a video clip(for the song “An eixes erthei poio noris)

Tamta, the artist that participated in this year’s Greek national final with the song “With love”,is nominated in the following categories with her song “Den teleiwnei etsi I agapi”(Love doesn’t end this way) :

– Best video clip pop
– Best video clipby a female artist
– Best artist of the year with the most played video clip
– Best dressed artist in a video clip(with the song “Einai krima”)

Sakis Rouvas, the Greek super star that participated to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 in Turkey and ended 3rd with the song “Shake it” is nominated in the following categories with his song “Ego travao zori”:

– Best video clip pop
– Best dance video clip (with the song “Ola giro sou girizoun”)
– Best video clip by a male artist
– Best video clip of the year
– Best artist of the year with the most played video clip

Michalis Hatziyiannis,whoparticipated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 for Cyprus with the song “Genesis” is nominated in the following categories with the song “Ola i tipota”(All or nothing):

– Best pop video clip
– Best male video clip
– Best video clip of the year
– Best artist of the year with the most played video clip

Kaiti Garbi,who represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with the song “Ellada chora tou fotos” is nominated in the following category with the song “Esena mono”(Only you):

– Best dance video clip

Dimitris Korgialas, the composer ofthis year's CypriotEurovision entry “Comme ci, comme ça” that ended 15th in the semifinal in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki. Dimitris is nominated in the following category with a remake of the song “O Poio kalos tragoudistis/Geia sou”:

– Best dance video clip

Anna Vissi, the Greek representativein the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with “Everything” is nominated in the following category:

– Best video clip of a female artist

Sarbel, the Greek entrant for this year Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with the song “Yassou Maria” that ended 7th in the big final and Konstantinos Hristoforou that represented Cyprus in 2005 in Kiev, are both nominated in the following category:

– Best songwith the most catchy title(Sarbel with the song "Yassou Maria" and Konstantinos with the song "Molis horisa"

Evridiki that represented Cyprus in this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with the song “ Comme ci comme ca” is nominated in the following category:

– Best dressed artist in a video clip

These are the nominations of the Mad Video Music Awards that are going to take place in Athens in June.
