Serbia won the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. As usual, a press conference was held after the winner was announced. Faster than ever, there has already been confirmed, where the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will take place: it might be no surprise that we will be going to Belgrade.
Serbian Head of Press, Duska Lucich, assured the press that everyone will have all they want in Belgrade. The contest will be organised in the Belgrade Arena, the largest arena in Europe with a capacity of 20.000 seats.
Marija was asked if she has any advice for the western countries that have been doing badly recently in the contest. She said that music should not be watched, it should be listened to. "It’s time for good interpretations, good composers that make good songs. And sing the music, that’s all, sing the music".
The crowd cheered wildly when one reporter thanked Maria for making this a song contest again. The press conference closed with Marija’s backing singers singing Molitva in Finnish to thank Finland for an excellent organization.
