Télé Liban the Lebanese national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday.com that Lebanon will not participate at the forthcoming 2015  Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, next May. Hence Lebanon will not debut in Eurovision next year.

Lebanon was all set to debut at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, having selected Aline Lahoud via an internal selection to fly the Lebanese flag in Kiev with her entry Quand tout s’enfuit, but unfortunately the country  pulled out of the competition few months before the contest.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna. The official list of the 2015 Eurovision participating countries is expected to be released by the EBU by early January.

The deadline for countries to submit their application for participation has been set to 15 September. Hereafter the countries can withdraw their application without a financial penalty until 10 October.
