Eirikur Hauksson, who will be performing Valentine lost for Iceland in the 2007 Eurovision song Contest, has completed both his rehearsals and he feels quite satisfied with the outcome. After his second press conference Barry Viniker caught up with the Icelandic rock star for a video interview.

Eirikur, the Hawk, Hauksson told us that he knows the Nordic countries like his kind of music, so he hopes for some votes from them but he also hopes that southern or eastern countries wil respond to his song as well.Eirikur seemed very realistic and down-to-earth about the possible outcome of the semi final for Iceland : "I would say my chances are 50-50.." he says in our interview.

Eirikur, having participated in the Eurovision Song Contest twice already in '86 and '91, answered our questions about the differences in the contest back then and now. He also talked quite frankly about his muchdiscussed participation in this year's Nordic preview shows as a member of the panel.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
