Dorde Novkovic died in his home last night at the age of 65. In 1993, he composed the Croatian Eurovision Song Contest entry Don't ever cry, which was performed by PUT.
Dorde Novkovic was born inVladimirci in 1943 but moved to Zagreb in the 1970s. In 1993, Don't ever cry finished third in the Eastern Europe qualifier round and eventually came 15th in Millstreet. It was the first Eurovision Song Contest entry for Croatia as an independent country. Furthermore, he composed songs for many famous singers: among them Gabi Novak, Tereza Kesovija, Severina (Croatia 2006) and Danjela (Croatia 1998). All in all, Dorde Novkovic composed more than 2500 songs in his life and sold more than 20 million records.
