UK TV chat show host Paul O'Grady featured former Irish competitor Dana and UK commentator Sir Terry Wogan on his prime time slot this week.

During the show, both guests were quizzed about their experiences of Eurovision, and invited to comment of some of this year's hopefuls. This focussed on Belarus, Ukraine and Belgium, and clips were shown from each of these entries. Dana – who is currently writing her autobiography- was responsible for the comment of the night, exclaiming after watching Verka Serduchka "NOW I know what happened to Timmy Mallet!". Timmy Mallet, for non-UK viewers, was a children's TV presenter of thelate 1980s / early 1990s, famous for his bizarre dress sense, wacky presenting style and one-hit wonderItsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polkadot Bikini.

Also on the show, Britishchart-topper Sophie Ellis-Bextor 'came out' as a closet Eurovision Song Contest fan, proving that the contest's aficionados are to be found in all walks of life. Perhaps Sophie might one day consider participating herself…
