The second in a bumper crop of OGAE national votes this weekend, Austria is next up, with an enthusiastic douze points for Ukrainian representative Verka Serduchka and Dancing Lasha Tumbai.

The Austrian OGAE branch held the vote as part of a major fan event at the Intercity hotel in Vienna, which was also attended by a camera crew from national broadcaster ORF. Footage from the event was compiled to form part of the TV programme "Wie, bitte?" (Pardon?), which perhaps marks the first occasion that an OGAE vote has actually been televised. Following the end of the event at 22:00, fans gathered at Heldenplatz for Eric Papilaya's official sending-off party, from which he continue on with the Get a Life – Get Alive tour.

Interestingly, counting the top ten from the Austrian results, no points are given to the overall OGAE leaderboard for four of the current top five countries – Belarus, Switzerland, Slovenia or Greece. Only Serbia manages this feat, with a helpful dix points, helping Moltiva to gain a lead on nearby competitors.
