Rarities on CD for the fist time

Warner Music Finland will release a new Euroviisut related CD and re-release the previous two that have been out of stock for sometime now after their release two years ago. The new album Euroviisut – Suomen finaaliklassikot features classics from the Finnish final and is a welcome addition to the all winners CD Suomen euroviisut 1961-2006 and the one featuring Eurovision covers in Finnish, Käännetyt viisuhelmet. All three will be released in early April and all are double CDs.

The first CD covers years 1962-1978 and many songs are released on CD for the fist time ever. It features songs like Tamara Lund’s no-shame anthem Olen mikä olen (I am what I am), Lasse Mårtensson’s evergreen and covered by several artists Kaikessa soi blues (Blues is everywhere), Katri Helena’s Minne tuuli kuljettaa (Where the wind blows me) that many still believe would have won in Naples in 1965 and would have changed Finland’s fate in Eurovision in an early stage.
The second CD kicks off with Anneli Saaristo’s Sinun kanssasi, sinua ilman (With you, without you) that anticipated her latin inspired 1989 entry and ends with Johanna Kurkela’s Olet kaunein uneni (You’re my most beautiful dream) from Euroviisut 2007. In between classics like Riki Sorsa’s runner up in 1985 Haaveissa vainko oot mun (Are you mine only in dreams) that was one of the biggest hits that year, Nightwish’s Sleepwalker and Annika Eklund’s Shanghain valot (Lights of Shanghai) and of course Anna Eriksson’s OGAE Second Chance winner Oot voimani mun (You are my strength).

The double-CD Suomen Euroviisut 1961-2006 including all the Finnish winners has been updated with Lordi’s Hard rock hallelujah, while the Käännetyt viisuhelmet is re-released in its original form.

The new double album will be called Euroviisut – Suomen finaaliklassikot (Classics from Finnish finals). It’ll contain the following songs:
