The Swiss broadcasting authority SRG-SSR allows responsibility for the national selection to be shared among the four main national broadcasters that make up it”s membership. This year broadcaster TSR can organize the national final ! Singer Olivier Delaloye declared he”s interested in participation.

Anyone wishing to enter a song must have Swiss nationality and the rules have been circulated in French, German and Italian. Songs must be submitted by October 19 2001. TSR is allowing freedom of choice when it comes to the language in which the songs will be presented.

In 2001, Swiss hoped that White Chocolate (who finally came second in the German national final) would bring them luck. Switzerland was officially relegated from the contest last year, but invited by the German broadcaster to participate as guest in their preselection.
