Help Locomondo choose their new name!

by Stella Floras 52 views

There has been a complication with the use of the name Locomondo by the winners of the Romanian national final. The newly formed group will have to look for a new name as there is already a Greek band formed in 2004 that has the same name. The Greek band contacted TVR and pointed the fact out to them. The Romanian band together with the broadcaster have kindly decided to change their name so that no confusion will be caused.

The band already have some very interesting names in mind but they would love to hear what the people have to say as well. So here is your chance to make history! Use your imagination and suggest the name that you think suits the band best. The band seem to have a soft spot for the word "Mondo" so keep that in mind as well. And remember it has to be a cool and original name!

Use the reactions space below to leave your suggestions until Sunday 18 February, 20.00 CET . TVR and the band will be monitoring the reactions and who knows maybe you will be the lucky one to have the unique opportunity to name a Eurovision Song Contest participant.

In posting your reactions you kindly accept that if the name chosen comes from our reactions section all copyright and ownership of the name belong to the band.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
